Cigarette Smoke Odor

Removing Cigarette Smoke Odor

Getting smoke odor out of houses and rental property is always a problem. The biggest part of the problem is that you or some one else has painted over the tobacco smoke residue in an attempt to cover it up or seal it in. Most of the time the paint /sealer has been applied without even washing the walls before painting. If the walls were sealed at least the yellow stains will not bleed through the paint but you can rest assured that the smoke odor will. With OdorXit AQM 30 Day, all is not lost.

Oxidizing tobacco smoke or any smoke odor from houses or rental property that have already been painted just takes longer (often 2 to 4 weeks of treatment) to soak through the paint and sealer. When using OdorXit AQM , it is very important to use a ceiling fan if available or a small personal or box fan to stir the CLO2 throughout the area being treated because ClO2 is heavier than air so it tends to accumulate on the floor. And because ClO2 uses a contact chemistry process (oxidation) it needs to come in contact with the actual smoke on walls ceiling, fixtures, cabinets, etc. for it to work.

If you wash the walls with TSP and rinse them water and then treat the remaining smoke with OdorXit ClO2 before you paint, it's much faster; often just 2 or 3 days before you can paint and have no smoke or cooking odors.
