OdorXit Odor Eliminator

By Deb Meyer 04 Dec, 2017

Remember when you were a kid and you got a new puppy for Christmas? You came down stairs to see if Santa had come and left you gifts. But there sitting in a box with the wobbling lid was a long floppy eared puppy! Your eyes got as big as saucers! You couldn’t believe your eyes. It was the best Christmas ever. A new dog for you!

Will You do the Same for Your Kids?

And now it’s your kids’ turn to get a new puppy under the Christmas tree from you. You remember all the fun of your puppy – you named him Buddy. He was your buddy. He followed you everywhere. Through the house, in the back yard, some days he even tried to follow you to school. He was the perfect companion. At least that’s what you remembered.

But now you’re the mom in this equation. Not the wide eyed little girl so you’re thinking of all the other ‘situations’ that come with this little puppy.

Training

Oh, the training.  Who gets to remove dog urine from the carpet? Will that be your job this time? What about not jumping up on people. How big will the puppy get? Who gets to train him not to bite; to get along with the cat? That training just seemed to happen with your childhood dog, Buddy.

And what about the house breaking – no peeing in the house? You don’t remember having to remove dog urine from the carpet as a kid. That’s right. Your Buddy never peed inside the house. Well, maybe he did. But you as a kid never had to clean it up so you don’t remember.

Dog Poo on the Carpet

And the poo. You do remember stepping in it once on the carpet as you got out of bed. But that was only one time. Right? You thought it was funny because you tracked it all the way down the hall…on the carpet.

Puppy Responsibilities

So now you’re thinking about all the responsibility and expense that comes with a puppy when you’re the parent and not the wide eyed, can’t believe your eyes, you got a real puppy for Christmas, kid.

  •  A leash
  • A collar
  • A walk a day
  • Food
  • Training
  • An odor remover to remove dog urine from the carpet until he’s trained
  • Training pants – no training paper – no training pads.
  • Dog license
  • Insurance
  • Water bowl
  • Toys
  • Treats
  • A fenced in back yard – not!
  • Training
  • An odor remover to get rid of urine smell on concrete– until he’s trained
  • A pooper picker upper
  • Baby gate to keep him in the kitchen
  • Dog bed
  • Newspaper for accidents
  • Dog cage so he doesn’t sleep in your bed

Wow. Looking at this list, you’ve almost talked yourself out of getting a dog for the kids. It’s a long list. And you now know, you’re the one who will do most of the work.  But you're ready!  You really want the dog and it's a fun thing to do for the kids!

How do you chose an Odor Eliminator

But the clean up. That’s your big concern. How do you pick an odor eliminator? It’s been a while since you had to worry about that.  You guess you'll look at the reviews on line to get rid of urine smells and see what others say…like you did with the shoes you just bought for the kids.

Remove Dog Urine from Carpet

So you do read the reviews. You search for “remove dog urine from carpet”. You find crazy answers.

Wiki and DIY https://www.wikihow.com/Remove-Pet-Urine-from-Carpet

  • Blot up the urine with a book and towel
  • Fold a bath towel two times and cover the urine spot. Stand on towel and dab the urine into the towel by walking In place.–

These are crazy answers! Should I put my right hand in and shake it all about too? Help! Doesn’t standing on the urine even on top of a towel, push the urine deeper into the carpet and padding? And now you never get all the urine and smell out?

More suggestions:

  • Use an enzyme cleaner or make your own.
  • You can buy enzymatic cleaner at most pet stores, or you can make your own with clean water, brown sugar, and orange peels.

Really! Won’t my pet want to eat the carpet in that area? That sounds like it will smell like yummy food to a dog. That’s not what I want!

  •   Consider steam-cleaning the carpet .  If the enzymatic cleaner didn't remove the stain completely, consider renting a steam cleaner or hiring a professional to do the job for you.

OK, if you use a steam cleaner and urine has already bonded to the carpet fibers they are still impossible to remove. You're beginning to think these people know less about urine and fabric and how to get rid of urine smell than you do.

They start off telling you that ‘”in case” enzymatic cleaners don’t work you should try an alternate method or two to begin with?

And the recommended way is to hire professionals. How can they really guarantee to get the odor out if there is nothing on the market that will get the odor out besides brown sugar and orange ?

  • Mix vinegar with warm water misted on the carpet. If this doesn’t work, call a professional.
  • Baking powder – sounds like another option to not remove dog urine from the carpet but leave a place for my pet to snack on my rug.

Isn’t there something out there that’s natural and really does get rid of urine smell without my pet snacking on my carpet or peeing in the same place?

Something that would make the urine stop producing an odor and not have the animal smell it any more? And they actually want to pee outside instead of in my house?

If something like this did exist, it seems it would:

  • Keep more animals OUT of the rescues and shelters
  • Make houses sell for what they are worth because they DON’T smell like the previous owners’ pet
  • Have more people willing to take a pet into their home.

It apparently must be rocket science since there are so many solutions that don’t work. All I want is to be able to get rid of urine smell in a carpet, hardwood floor, concrete or just about anywhere.

 Where are you scientists?

What is The Solution to Keep Man’s Best Friend One Friend of Many Friends because my house smells?

Secret #1

We at OdorXit do have the solution. And it is not even the final startling secret tht every dog or even cat owner should know. But we are glad you ask the question!

It’s called OdorXit Concentrate . It’s made with water and essential oils. So it’s completely safe for you and your kids and pets and really does ELIMINATE urine odor anywhere and a lot of other odors too. It contains:

  • No enzymes,
  • No chemicals.
  • No added fragrances.

It’s safe to drink – if a pet would do so – but it tastes pretty bad so they don’t drink it.

In fact, we have an OdorXit user in Denver CO who said “ I love OdorXit Concentrate . I use it in my washing machine for cat spray on any clothes the cat did her business on and to remove dog urine from my carpet and hardwood floors. I’ve also found it works great to spray the legs of my furniture to stop my pets from chewing on the legs.  It's great. Suzanne Woodland Park, CO .

So it won’t hurt them to eat it but they don’t.

How OdorXit Concentrate Works

OdorXit Concentrate gets mixed with water and as long as you get it to ALL the urine – urine in the carpet, urine in the padding, urine on the floor beneath, urine on the wall, behind any toe strips, in any heat registers on the floor – it will make the urine stop producing an odor and the area will never smell again.

Your pet won’t smell urine there either so he won’t pee in the same place. She won’t pee in the same place either!

Your house will sell for full price because you can get rid of urine smell in concrete , (check out our video on "how" here) carpet and drywall. Urine anywhere. Just mix the Concentrate and spray.

Secret #2

Another Trick to Know WHERE the Urine Is

You’ve seen CSU detective shows, right? How they shine a black light or ultra violent light on blood and it fluoresces – looks yellowish green? Urine is the same. Ninety percent of urine – not 100% because it depends on what the animal or person was eating – will fluoresce under a black light. And an uv light will tell you where the urine is and that’s where you should spray or saturate the area with OdorXit and water.

While shining the UV light down a duct in your floor and it fluoresces may scare you, as long as you spray OdorXit Concentrate solution on all the urine there, it will remove that smell too. You can read here for more details on getting the urine smell out of your duct work.   https://www.odorxit.com/removing-odors-from-duct-work

Having a UV light allows you to treat the areas that smell with OdorXit Concentrate and water to stop the odor from being produced.

Secret #3

Never paint before getting rid of all the odor.

This means don’t paint the walls or floors thinking you can get rid of the odor that way. An odor can’t be sealed in or sealed over by paint, any sealer or shellac.

What you smell is a gas. Not a liquid but certainly not a solid so it can’t be painted. Here’s more information on how painting is just an attempt to seal in an odor.   https://www.odorxit.com/sealing-painting-floors-hide-odors

Secret #4

Special Times to Use Carpet Shampoo

Also, there is no need for expensive carpet shampoos to remove stains from your carpet. Water will remove your carpet stain the best. I’m sure you’re amazed at that and it is a secret the shampoo makers don’t want you to know. And you probably think I’m crazy, but I’ll tell you more in a minute.

At OdorXit, we do recommend using a carpet shampoo, but only as an additive to the OdorXit Concentrate and water solution. It actually makes the solution penetrate deeper into surfaces like carpeting and concrete to get to all the urine our four legged buddies leave in the floor. Again,

OdorXit has to get to all the urine to react with it and make the urine stop producing an odor – which eliminates the smell…forever.

Secret #5

The shampoo you’ll want is any carpet shampoo but it must have the ingredient “ surfactant ” in it. We recommend WalMart Great Value only because it’s the easiest to get just about anywhere in the country.

Water to Remove Your Carpet Stains

Really? I know you’re asking yourself that. But water and a wet/dry shop vacuum or a Rainbow vacuum cleaner will lift out the spot with just adding water to the spot on the carpet and lifting it out with the suction from the machine. You’ll never know there was a urine stain there. Adding OdorXit Concentrate into the water will then remove the stain and the odor at the same time. Amazing!

Knowing this tip makes owning a puppy before being potty trained as the most amazing tip ever!

OdorXit Concentrate is the perfect solution.

OdorXit Concentrate will remove dog urine from your carpet and it gets rid of the urine smell, feces smell, vomit, even spoiled milk from just about anywhere. Such as carpet, concrete, linoleum, fabric, etc.

It fact, if your dog would ever be sprayed by a skunk – in the face – how stinky is that! – you can apply the OdorXit Concentrate and water to your pets’ fur and eliminate that odor too. And best of all it won’t harm you, your pet or the environment.  But it will eliminate the skunk smell and your worst smell completely!

And since you have young children in the house too, potty training may be another opportunity to use OdorXit Concentrate . If they miss the target and pee on the floor or bed clothes OdorXit Concentrate and water works on people urine too. If the dog pees on your clothes or your kids have accidents in the bed, adding OdorXit Concentrate with your regular detergent will eliminate the urine the smell in the fabric. . You can learn more about that here: https://www.odorxit.com/eliminate-odors-fabric-clothing- upholstery

The recent storms that have ravaged multiple parts of the US have caused unprecedented damage. If you or your loved ones were affected by any of these storms, our thoughts and best wishes go out to you. Because these storms were so large in scale, people have experienced everything from moderate to complete damage.

Since getting rid of bad odors is our area of expertise, we want to help anyone who lost power for an extended period of time during one of these storms but didn't face complete damage to their home and belongings. Even if you're dealing with a refrigerator that smells incredibly bad due to it being fully defrosted and having items like frozen food decompose for days or even weeks, we want to go over how you can fully restore your appliance to its former condition.

5 Steps to Saving Your Refrigerator After Losing Electricity

The first step is to remove all of the spoiled food. This can be a truly nasty and smelly experience, which is why you'll want to wear a protective mask and gloves as you do it. Once your refrigerator is clean, take it outside and spray it out with a garden hose. If you have a truck or access to one, consider taking your appliance to a car wash and use the high-powered equipment to spray it out.

The next step is to spray one ounce of OdorXit Concentrate mixed with 30 ounces of water everywhere the refrigerator smells. That means spraying the insulation behind the doors,

under and around the door gaskets, the inside, behind the drawers and every little opening where the defrosted food might have dripped. Once the OdorXit Concentrate solution comes in contact with the rotten food smells, it will remove them from your refrigerator completely and safely.

The second to last step is to let the refrigerator dry outside then bring it back in the house. Don't panic if it still smells a little. It just means there is still at least one spot that hasn't been treated yet. You'll be able to knock it out by continuing to sniff and spraying wherever you detect even a slight odor.

The final step is to remember to be a good neighbor! Spray a few shots of the OdorXit Concentrate solution in the drain at the car wash or wherever you ended up treating your appliance. Anyone who comes by after you will be very glad you did.

By following the process above, it's possible to save even the worst smelling refrigerator, which in turns means saving hundreds of dollars by not needing to buy a replacement. So if you know anyone who's currently trying to restore belongings like their refrigerator, feel free to share this post with them by email or on Facebook.

So if you know anyone who's currently trying to restore belongings like their refrigerator, feel free to share this post with them by email or on Facebook.

If you'd like more detailed information, check out this page on our website  Refrigerator Odor

Get your OdorXit Concentrate now and always have some in your cabinet for odor emergencies.  Just keep the OdorXit out of the direct sunlight and it will last a long time.  No shelf life.
